embroidery workshop

in this workshop we were given a selection of postcards and threads ranging from metallic to 6 part embroidery thread. we were also given a book binding needle to mark out where we wanted to put or holes to thread a pattern into the image. at first I didn’t use a book binding needle and started just pushing the sewing needle through the image and shortly after discovered this was a very hard scruffy process, I then started using a book binding needle and you can see a dramatic difference in neatness and a very pricise clean flat image with no major punctures , my postcard image was very detailed so picking wich areas to embroider was complicated andi only picked the fine details to highlight. the finished piece ended up being elegant and peaceful with metallic hints.
